Please be careful when driving around school (or anywhere else). Put down your double-decaf, fair-trade, organic soy latte. Hang up your cell phone. (Or at least use a hands-free device. It’s the law.) Stop texting to your Twitter account! Don’t post to Facebook from your iPhone! And don’t park in the red zones. It’s time to pay attention to your driving and keep our kids safe!

Old Mill School was selected as a California Distinguished School for 2010. Congratulations to Principal McDonough and her staff for this honor.

This is the 4th time Old Mill School has received the California Distinguished School Award since the program’s inception in 1986. Old Mill School was also honored in 1998, 1993, and 1989.

We are pleased to support SchoolPool Marin. We encourage you to take a minute to register! This web-based teacher professional development program will help you find other interested families in your neighborhood to SchoolPool: carpool, walk, bike or bus together to school.

We can all work together to reduce vehicle trips to schools thus reducing traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions in Marin County. Learn more about the many benefits the program offers our community, our school and your family at www.SchoolPoolMarin.org.

SchoolPool Marin is an online referral service from the Transportation Authority of Marin through its Safe Routes to Schools program with support from a grant from the Marin Community Foundation Climate Change Initiative and in partnership with the Marin County Office of Education.
